Founded in 1990, WISE Kid-Netic Energy is the largest community outreach program offered by the University of Manitoba. Our primary support is from the Price Faculty of Engineering.

WISE Kid-Netic Energy is a non-profit organization that offers hands on, curriculum based science, engineering and technology deliverables for youth in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Use the navigation bar at the top of the page to learn more about our program and how you can get involved!

Our Mission

We envision the youth of Manitoba inspired and empowered by the possibilities of science, engineering and technology. We envision a Manitoba where all youth, regardless of background, gender or socio-economic status are enriched in their science, math and technology education. The young people of today will become Manitoba's vibrant and diverse workforce of leaders tomorrow; these youth will be empowered by their knowledge and appreciation for science, engineering and technology. IN-CLASS/COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Fully portable, curriculum-tested, hands-on STEM sessions! Our workshops are STEM activity sessions designed for school classes or community centres & make up by far the largest component of the outreach we do. Learn more


Clubs

An opportunity to explore STEM topics in-depth on a weekly basis! During the school year, we offer extracurricular clubs that give kids the chance to explore STEM and share interests with kids outside of their school classrooms. Learn more


Activity Booklets

WISE Kid-Netic Energy is proud to share with you, our new Science curriculum-based, free Activity Booklets to encourage diving into the world of STEM remotely, on-the-go or in the classroom. Print copies for Grades K-8 right here on our website! Learn more

SPECIAL EVENTS

Days that are filled with fun, STEM-based activities and that are always free! We host a number of exciting events throughout the school year to engage Manitoba youth in engineering, computer science and more. Learn more


SPRING/SUMMER CAMPs

Week-long day camps full of messy and interactive STEM! Our camps let kids in on an exciting world of discovery and innovation. Participants will explore STEM topics each day of the week through a variety of hands-on projects and activities. Learn more


TechToks

TechToks are byte-sized sessions where youth ages 13-15 are invited to choose what tech-based learning they’d like to do! We offer a variety of sessions throughout the week during July & August in multiple locations throughout Manitoba. Learn more
